What Is the ‘Tomorrow Lawyer’? (And Why You Need to Become One)

We are standing at a tipping point.

For the past three years, I’ve been on the front lines of the AI revolution, and I’m convinced of one thing: AI is the new electricity. It’s not a trend; it’s a new reality. But what does that mean for us: the solo attorneys, the small firms, and the paralegals who make law happen?

This blog is my answer.

I’m Greg Varner, and this is the new central hub for us as we navigate this unprecedented legal landscape together. It is my mission to share my learning curve I’ve been riding: the successes, the failures, and the strategies that actually work.

This isn’t just a blog. It’s a mission. Here’s what you can expect from this space.

1. Actionable AI for Your Practice

We’re all drinking from a firehose. New tools, new updates, new dangers. I will filter that firehose for you. We’ll move past the hype and focus on practical, effective, and safe ways to deploy AI in your practice today.

2. Dispatches from “Greg’s Skunkworks”

You don’t have time to test every new thing. So, I’ll do it for you. This is where I share my personal experiments with AI. I’ll show you my prompts, my workflows, the wins, and the failures. You get to learn from my time and mistakes.

3. “Danger Will Robinson!”

The new landscape is full of new traps. This is our “must-read” section. We will relentlessly track the ethical and professional pitfalls, from AI hallucinations and sanctions to the emerging threat of deepfakes in evidence. This is how we protect our clients, our licenses, and our profession.

4. The Human Operating System

This is the most important part. In a world of AI, what are lawyers for?

The Tomorrow Lawyer is not merely a tech user. This new era demands more of us, not less. It calls on us to be The Scholar, the human steward of meaning and context; The Tribune, the powerful, empathetic advocate; and The Operator, the AI-literate systems operator who knows the tool, its risks, and its power.

We will focus on how to protect our true asset: the human. How do we use AI to augment our thinking, not outsource it? How do we avoid the cognitive atrophy that comes from letting a machine do the work?

Your Adventure Starts Now

This isn’t just another tech blog. This is our new professional development. It’s how we stay human, stay relevant, and stay in the driver’s seat.
